SDiPath Survey
Advances in Computer Aided Support are transforming pathology and oncology by providing new ways to assess disease characteristics, guide treatment decisions, and improve patient outcomes. These tools can be derived using a range of computational approaches, from handcrafted feature extraction to more complex, non-explainable end-to-end deep learning models.
This SDiPath survey aims to:
• Compare perspectives across different professional groups (pathologists, oncologists) on the clinical use of Computer Aided Support.
• Assess trust and adoption barriers, including concerns about validation, accreditation, and integration into medical workflows.
• Identify preferences for different types of tools, particularly in terms of explainability, clinical utility, and level of evidence required for adoption.
• Explore professional differences in how pathologists, oncologists, and researchers perceive the role and reliability of these biomarkers in practice.
By gathering insights from diverse stakeholders over a set of 41 questions across 7 brief sections, we hope to better understand the thresholds of acceptance, concerns, and expectations surrounding Computer Aided Support in clinical and research settings and to better steer future SDiPath activities and education on this topic. The output will be a scientific manuscript and talks at various conferences and seminars. Please complete the survey with your email information on the last page of the survey.
